**\#️⃣ Tags:** #Collective > **🌱 Planted:** Wed 19 March 2025 --- Within our modern society, we live in a paradox. On paper, it looks like we're living in the best of times with all our conveniences, options, comforts and technological advances. We should be grateful for how good we've all go it, right? But off paper, in reality, many of us feel like we're on the edge of collapse, unable to cope with the demands and stressors of modern life. There's a lot happening in our modern world right now: - The demands in our work, life and relationships seem to keep piling up. Trying to work harder by getting more done with less isn't working. - We allow ourselves to become overworked, tired, stressed and burnt out in favour of never-ending production and achievement. - We desperately know we need rest but we struggle to allow ourselves to rest, constantly feeling like we need to be available and switched on. - In our [[Achievement Society|Achievement Society]]-based pursuit of profit and maximisation, we rush to solve every problem imaginable by introducing more software, hardware and technology which often further complicates and burdens our lives, rather than simplifying it. - We trade nurturing experience and precious life for time spent in pursuit of self-improvement, maximisation and achievement. - We don't have time to spend with our loved ones or do the things that bring us joy, and our relationships, health and wellbeing suffer because we're simply too busy. - Our trust in institutions is progressively weakening, while social and economic inequality is rising. - The precious and limited resources we rely on are becoming overburdened, while our consumption continues to climb. - We focus on the things that tear us apart, like our differences, preferences, race and religion, rather than uniting around the things that bring us together. - We're constantly being taken away from the present moment, our intuition and our inner [[The way we experience ourselves is through the Felt Sense|Felt Sense]] by petty distractions and external demands. Our lives have become fragmented, frantic and unstable. Ultimately, we've forgotten what it means to be human and what it means to live in harmony as one with nature, rather than being separate from it. This way of being is taking its toll on us. It's affecting our mental and physical health, the health and sustainability of our planet, our relationships, and our capacity to be in the moment to experience the joy and beauty of life. How long can this go on for? I honestly have no idea, but something needs to shift if we want to continue evolving and thriving on this planet, before its too late. # See Also - [[Collective Trauma]]
